The Custom Ordering and Manufacturing Process

If you can’t find what you want, why not let us make it for you? Pottery Manufacturing and Distributing, Inc. has been involved in custom pottery manufacturing for years. The following are guidelines that we have developed in order to create custom pottery that you will love.

• We request a photograph of the product. If that is not possible, a detailed drawing of the concept will be acceptable. The drawing should have at least the following dimensions and notes: height of the piece, width from outside to outside, thickness of the walls, shape, color, texture and any other pertinent design information.

• A master mold will be the first step in the creation of the product. We will contract for the creation of this item and since this is the case, the cost of the master mold is due in advance. Of course, the master mold will become the sole property of the customer.

• The cost per piece depends upon the item. Costs are affected by the size of the item as well as the production process that will be used to manufacture the item. The process required to make your custom pottery will be assessed utilizing the sample, photo or drawing that you provide.

• In addition to the cost of the master mold, we require an advance deposit equal to 50% of the total order. This deposit is non-refundable and must be received before production can begin. The remaining 50% must be paid in full before the order can be shipped to you.

• Because of the unique nature of ceramic products and their production processes, certain pieces will have imperfections. We call these "seconds." A custom ordering customer will always have the first option to purchase all the seconds that are produced. If the order chooses not to purchase these seconds, Pottery Manufacturing and Distributing reserves the right to sell or dispose of them as we see fit, in an effort to recover our costs.

• Customers are advised that the time required to produce an item, from concept to completion, is 60-90 days. This time period begins the day that we receive your advance deposit.

• Our prices do not include special packaging or shipping. All our prices are F.O.B. Gardena, California, 90248.
